People can be so funny sometimes. You know, it’s sad how we, people, are God’s greatest creation and it is sad how He loves us more than anything. It’s pathetic how we keep on waiting for Jesus to return. No wonder God abandoned us. Because if He didn’t, then where the hell is He? I get Him though. It’s like having a toy that stopped functioning. You throw it away, you leave. We stopped functioning you know. We forgot. Between His absence and all this shit we are going through, we forgot that we are humans and we decided to be more than that. We decided to play God. Replace Him.
On the first day, man created criticism. It was quite simple. He just raised his hand, and pointed at someone. On that day, the world was divided into two groups of people that go by different names. For example, there were the gay people and the straight people – no one ever told them that they still love. Then, there were those who some thought they’re ugly or too different, and those who just happened to have it all – no one ever explained that beauty is not measured only by how you look on the outside, no one ever explained that beauty is, sometimes, irrelevant. And the list goes on and on…
On the second day, man created currency. Even if he would still play God, he still needed something bigger than him, something to pray to and for, something to worship, something to die for. So, instead of paying his dear pal with a smile, as he used to do, he put his hand so deep in his pocket and found a green little piece of paper. From that day on, people stopped smiling. Instead, they kept giving money. Of course, since everyone could smile, but not anyone could have the same amount of money, he created greed and manipulation.
On the third day, man gave colour to his people. He decided, that there should be a way to categorize humans – since it is inappropriate to be equal and unacceptable to be considered as even with everyone – so he coloured the world. He took his pallet, and used black for those that would not be so “fortunate”. Then, yellow for the low-class workers that he would use as a huge factory. Since he was so pure and kind he used white for him and had his chosen ones painted white as well. He called them “normal”
On the fourth day, as he got tired because he was still human, he thought of reintroducing slavery to the world. He was so proud and happy with himself but with all these creations he felt like someone should be used. “Or better, abused”, he added. “But, maybe my followers will lose faith in me, no one likes the idea of having a slave”, he though. So he decided to give them a disguise. His favourite group, the ‘normal’ would definitely not be the slaves so he used all the others and gave them a disguise. They would look like criminals that belong in a lower class and they would not have dignity. They would do anything to get some money, work for anyone and let anyone ‘’abuse’’ them, but it would be ok. It would be ok because all the “normal” would say so. And what was the best thing about this, was that if they tried to stand up and fight for their rights, they would get killed or caged. Because, they wouldn’t have no rights! Whole countries would function like slaves as well! “Now isn’t that lovely”, he exclaimed.
On the fifth day, he created an army so he would be able to walk among us without getting hurt by anyone who is not pleased with his so fine and elegant work. He called his army “The Politicians”. He gave them power to do what they want to whomever they want. Still, his followers would vote for them, but to think that they do that because of their free will would be an illusion. The Politicians would bring chaos, control the world using this new inventions called ‘lies’ and ‘fake promises’ and pretend that they do God’s work. People will love them and bow to them. Let them control their lives, property. They will sell their soul to them. And, The Politicians will rise and will support criticism, money, slavery and racism.
On the sixth day, man decided that it was time to sit back and enjoy his miraculous achievements. He was still craving for more power though, so he thought that he would create one last thing that would never stop him from acting as a true, almighty God. He named himself “President” and every once in a while he would chose people to be Presidents all over the world so he would control the whole globe. On the sixth day, he put on a suite and started walking amongst us. On the sixth day, the President rested.
On the seventh day… Well, on the seventh day, here I am. I am only 18. I am no God and I am not trying to be one. But, really, you don’t need God’s power to understand that all of this just… sucks. This is not right. I stand here and I use my voice for all the things that are wrong. On the seventh day, I decided to write this, while lying on my bed because I got fed up from all the cruelty, from all the injustice of the world. I know I can’t change it, but I can make a difference. This is what I do. What do you do? Use your voice, every time you open up your mouth!
